Design process (Loyalty program)

Project
This project centered around the development of a loyalty program, enabling users to accumulate points which can be later converted into currency (USD). For instance, upon reaching 100 points, users can redeem them for $5.00. This currency can then be utilized to pay for orders using the available balance.
Competitor Analysis
During the competitors’ research, I could understand how other apps were handling wallets and credit concepts. Also, the features and patterns used were analyzed.
Goals
• Provide users with immediate access to their point balance, available currency, and the remaining points required for conversion.
       • Display the user's current points.
       • Present the current balance in currency.
       • Show the number of points needed for conversion.
• Enable users to utilize or adjust the available currency for payments.
• Ensure currency availability across different platforms (web and kiosk).
Concept & Design
Following competitor analysis and defining key goals, we designed several UI concepts. The most intuitive version was chosen for user testing. Due to an existing API, concepts had to be designed within its limitations.
User testing
Usability testing was conducted with 5 participants. The focus was on:
• Users' ability to quickly find relevant information (points, balance)
• Ease of using the balance as a payment method
• Understanding point usage at kiosks
• Handling edge cases (insufficient balance, modifying payment amount…)
Final UI and user journey
User testing results were documented to support the decision-making. Based on these insights, the final user interface (UI) and corresponding user flows were designed and documented to be used during the implementation.
